Supplemental Rules & Division Info

K-Ball

This division is open to players that are league age 4, (age 4 by August 31 of the current year).  It focuses on learning the fundamentals of hitting and fielding.  A tee is used for batting to allow players equal opportunity to put the ball in play.  The primary focus of this division is to introduce the players to the game of baseball.
K-Ball Supplemental Rules

Tee Ball

This division is open to players that are league age 5, (age 5 by August 31 of the current year).  Like K-Ball, this division focuses on learning the fundamentals of hitting and fielding.  A tee is used for batting to allow players equal opportunity to put the ball in play.  Players are taught the fundamentals of baseball and the value of teamwork.

Coach Pitch

This division is open to players that are league ages 6, (age 6 by August 31 of the current year).  The Coach Pitch division serves as an interim division focused on preparing players to move up to the next level of machine pitch.  The division focuses on the introduction of the catcher position and the hitting of a thrown pitch.  Players will get up to 2 pitches from their coach, and, if necessary will hit off a tee after those attempts.  This division is played on a 46' mound and 60' base paths.
Coach Pitch Supplemental Rules

Machine Pitch

 

This division is open to players that are league ages 7 and 8, (age 7 or 8 by August 31 of the current year).  It builds upon the fundamentals learned in the Tee Ball and Coach Pitch divisions.  In this division, players transition to batting against a pitching machine instead of a tee or coach thrown ball.  This division is played on a 46’ mound and 60’ base paths.  Additionally, players are introduced to more facets of the game of baseball including stealing and strikeouts.  Additional focus is put on the value of teamwork and understanding the different defensive positions.  Montgomery Little League's Machine Pitch division will combine our 7's and 8's for play. We separate play with a AAA and AA division to ensure optimal play for all players.

Machine Pitch Supplemental Rules

Minors AA & AAA

This division is open to players that are league age 9, 10 and 11, (age 9, 10 or 11 by August 31 of the current year) and builds upon the fundamentals learned in Machine Pitch.  In this division, players transition from a pitching machine to live player pitching.  Players are introduced to pitching and further instructed on defensive positioning and base running.  This division is played on a 46’ mound and 60’ base paths. This division is separated into a AA/AAA fashion to ensure optimal play for all players.

Minors AA and AAA Supplemental Rules

Majors

This division is open to players that are league age 11 and 12,  (age 11 or 12 by August 31 of the current year).  This is a Spring Season Sunday-only league and is played in conjunction with neighboring leagues within our district.  Travel is required within this division.  It builds upon the fundamentals learned in Minors AAA.  All rules in the Majors division are equivalent to those in Minors AAA.  This division is played on a 46’ mound and 60’ base paths.  Players that enroll in the Majors program are not eligible to play in the Minors AAA division within the same season.

Intermediate 50/70

 This division is open to players that are league age 12 and 13, (age 12 or 13 by August 31 of the current year).  This division offers an exciting transition for players as they move up to a 50’ mound and 70’ base paths.  It builds upon the fundamentals learned in lower divisions and introduces additional baseball skills such as lead offs, pick offs, and balks.  Inter-league play and travel within our district may be required within this division.

Intermediate 50/70 Supplemental Rules

Junior/Senior League

This division is open to players that are league ages 14-16,  (age 14, 15, or 16 by August 31 of the current year).  This division is played on a full 60'-6” mound and 90’ base paths.  It builds upon the fundamentals learned in the lower divisions and offers the ability for players to continue to play organized baseball into their high school years.  This division requires the use of -3 BBCOR 2-5/8” bats.  Inter-league play and travel within our district may be required within this division.
